The Research and Development team at CPI has earned itself an enviable reputation having revolutionised compressor piston and packing ring performance with the introduction of its Special Polymer Alloys to the compressor industry, and is uniquely qualified to give both professional and technically sound advice. This vast experience and problem solving capabilities has been significant in contributing towards the reliability and efficiency of many compressors around the world.

Continued exploration maintains the team's proactive position at the leading edge of material research, constantly evolving new designs and developments of non metallic materials for piston and rider rings, piston rod packings, oil wiper packings for reciprocating compressor applications. CPI are progressing towards the same goal with its own radiused disc valve.

The CPI team of valve and compression engineers, using their sophisticated valve dynamics programs, can not only carry out valve performance modelling for design purposes, but can also analyse existing installations and assess whether the optimum valve design is being used. Together with other R&D programmes that are focused on all aspects of valve design detail, including reliability, efficiency, ease of installation and maintenance, it can only make life much better for compressor operators.
